How to transfer custom domain to Squarespace

  Squarespace requires both a CNAME and A Record to direct a custom domain to their site – I’m able to change the CNAME under the DNS Manager, but WordPress won’t accept my A Record. This is how squarespace says to do it:

  CNAME <subdomain> <host>.
  A <subdomain> <IP>

  More specifically:

  CNAME www http://www.squarepace6.com
  A @ 65.39.205.57

  But WordPress won’t accept that, it says the A Record is incorrect. Is there something other than the “@” that I should put or how can I fix this?
