How to transfer database from WordPress.com to another host?
-
the first time I write blog, I chose wordpress.com because I’m a newbie and need to know more about blog. Now, I need to expand my blog by purchasing a host and transfer my blog there. But, so far, I can’t find anyway to transfer database from wordpress.com to another host. So, is there anyway, just anyway to do that? I really don’t want to throw away everything I’ve done from the beginning until now.

Visit the Manage / Export dashboard tab in your old blog, and export from there. Then go to the Manage / Import tab in your new blog and import the file.

So, with this, I can create another wordpress blog on another host(bluehost for example), then import, and every content from my old blog with move over to the new host? because when I downloaded the xml file, it’s only around 2.2 MB, I though that I will need to back up everything to my PC, then upload it to the new host, and my data should be around 1GB, not just 2.2 MB
That’s the only thing I’m not sure, but I really appreciate your answerbtw, your blog has lots of interesting pictures, keep up the good job

Your blog structure (posts, comments, pages, categories, tags) will be exported. Images will remain on wordpress.com server.

Actually images will be copied to the new host during the import if you have installed a recent version of WordPress.

and even if the images remain on wordpress.com server, with my blog structure move to the new host, all the image will be redirected back to the old server?
-
Will exporting the old blog mean that it will be deleted? Or will it result in two versions of your blog, the one in the old location and the one in the new location?
