How to transfer domain and recieve confirmation your domain is private?

    Hello. Earlier this year I went through the process of transferring my domain…However, recently I received a bill from wordpress.com, so clearly the process was unsuccessful. I’d like to know where I can call to get someone’s help with transferring over my domain correctly (it was WordPress.com who previously walked me through it). Also, when I called my webhost, they said that my domain was not private ( I am currently being billed for domain privacy from WordPress.com) and they could easily access my information, so I was hoping there was someone who could discuss with me why this is occurring and how to correct it?
