How to transfer ebooks from desktop file to your Media Library?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve subscribed to Commission Shortcut.com and am trying (as they instructed) to transfer my e-Books which are saved in a Desktop folder to WordPress Media Library. for publishing online. I clicked Add New and nothing happens! I click on the “Add New” – nothing. This is supposed to be a free service (thru Comm. Shortcut) but it tells me I have to purchase something or other. I’m a newbie and finding this a bit confusing. Could you explain why I’m having this problem and assist me in getting my e-books uploaded for publishing please. I never made it as far as ther “Show” button!

We need the URL of the blog in question to give you accurate help.

Are these books you have written yourself? Or are these ones that come pre-written and they just change a few things to add affiliate marketing links in the “free” e-book?

What is the format of the ebook file? There are limits on the types of files we can upload here without a space upgrade, and the normal file types for ebooks (.epub and .mobi) are not accepted file types.

Allowed file types without space upgrade: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx

Space Upgrade adds the ability to upload some audio file types.

@auxclass, I should have refreshed. I missed the missing URL.

Morning @TSP – my best guess is the books are in PDF format as that is the most universal – anyway – you gave them the file types – but as always there are different types of “WordPress” so the URL is important for accurate help

The URL is “mizzmillie.wordpress.com” and yes, it is pre-written and I just change a few things to add affiliate marketing links in the “free” e-book?

    mizzmillie.wordpress.com doesn’t exist

Do you want to register mizzmillie.wordpress.com?

    Perhaps you should read these:

    http://en.wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/

Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category. Here is a thread in the support forums that talks more about which affiliate links are OK or not OK.

Yes, I do want to register “mizzmillie.wordpress.com”. I’m desperately trying to do affiliate marketing and have been following instructions I was given, but there are all sorts of hiccups – like this for example!

I have branded several e-Books I was given which I am to send to recommended sites, but am absolutely stuck in the WordPress process! I’m a complete newbie at this and would appreciate any assistance anyone would be kind enough to give me. I’m stressing out, big-time!! I’m not a tech-minded “youngie” – I’m a Nanna of 10 grandees trying to make some money online to supplement my pension! Help – anyone, please!!!

I have branded several e-Books I was given which I am to send to recommended sites,

1tess gave you some links you should read before anything else.

Bottom line, WordPress.com (the free hosted service) is not a good fit for the type of site you want to create.
