How to Transfer Non-WordPress Domain for use in WordPress

  Greetings WordPress Support,

  I currently have a wordpress account and also a separate website. The thing is: I do not need to keep all the web architecture, photos, information from that site and I would rather run all my web services through wordpress. I have my website information and photos all downloaded so that I can use them on wordpress. I still want to keep my domain name for that website because it is unique and I do not want to have to change my website / domain name listings. Is it possible to set up my web address (or domain name – not sure if there’s a difference) on wordpress without changing the web address / domain name?

  Yes, Joe its possible to use your domain name with wordpress account.

  There are two ways to get solution of your problem

  1. Transfer your domain to wordpress and then use it.
         for this you can do with this document<a href="https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/">trasfer your existing domain to wordpress.com</a>

  2. You can map your domain to your wordpress account in this your domain registrar will be the one from whom you have purchased the domain you will be just mapping it to your wordpress account.

  for this case you also need to change the dns settings you can refer this link and select your registrar document so that you can easily get to know how to change the DNS setting for your registrar

  Hi Shubhamgmath

  Thank you for providing the two solutions above. Essentially what I want to do is run my website using wordpress’ architecture but I just want to keep my domain name. Would both of these solutions allow me to use wordpress’ architecture and editing options? I ask because my current website does not have any editing tools, just html pages, and I would rather not have to write the code myself. This is for a business website so it would also be more user-friendly for our staff to run it through wordpress’ system.
