How to transfer posts from one blog to another

Hi! I would like to transfer the blog posts only from an old website/blog to a new one. Both are WordPress.com accounts. I do not need to transfer anything else as the new blog is all setup except for that, so I was afraid to go through the steps outlined in “Moving a Blog.” After that, I plan to follow the steps in moving our subscribers. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

What’s to fear? When you create an XML export file you are creating a copy. The original remains where it is until or unless you delete it. Go to http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-between-wordpress-com-blogs

Will uploading the copy to the new blog undue any of the features/settings I’ve already created in the new blog?

Importing content is similar to changing themes. I don’t know if the site you are importing into is wearing the same theme or has the same settings or not. I do know that only you can chnage the settings. Content can’t do that.
You can quickly and easily change themes to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears.After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

Thank you. I understand about the Themes and changing them. I was just unsure whether transferring content would change some of the content on the other Pages. I only want the Posts. I have the Pages all set up, and they’re slightly different from the old Pages.

Woo hoo, it worked!!! I was so afraid I would mess something up. It turned out to be pretty simple as there were options about what to export, etc. Whew! :) Thanks again for the help!
