How to transfer to a new blog?

  Hi
  I’ve just started a blog at bringthefunk.wordpress.com but am not sure about the name. Am I able to either change the domain or create a new blog and transfer my posts over? E.g. to adgondagoian.wordpress.com

  You cannot change the URL of the existing blog, but you can create more blogs. Go to http://wordpress.com while logged in and you can add more blogs there.

  Is it possible to transfer posts was part of his question? I had an older version of WordPress automatically added to my web hosting plan. Ultimately I transferred my site to a new host and want to create a new WordPress blog. I’d love to transfer by blog entries over from my old WordPress blog. How do you do that?

  @apmunoz – since you are self-hosted, you are in the wrong forum. Head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as we use different software than you do.

  @theseldomseenkid – you can export your posts from your old blog and import them into your new blog. Or if you only have a few posts, you can simply copy and paste them.

  In the old blog, go to Manage -> Export. You will obtain an XML file of your blog’s content.

  In the new blog, go to Manage -> Import. Use the file that you downloaded during the Export above.
