How to turn back changes

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I want to recover my work on my site, I did not find a button that allows me to go back.
I had made several groups of visuals with titles and images all along the home page, I clicked on the wrong button to create a new menu and it gave me this result:
    https://wordpress.com/site-editor/safeawaretest.wordpress.com

    Can you help me please?

    Thanks in advance.

In the site editor, there is an “undo” button in the toolbar here:

You should be able to undo any changes using that button.

If you still have trouble, please take a screenshot of the problem in question. If you’re not familiar on how to take a screenshot, this support document will help explain how to make one:

    Take a Screenshot

Then, use a service like Snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and then share the image link from that service here and we’ll take a closer look.

    Thanks!

Is there any history background that i can use to take an old version on the website that recover my work?

  • Hi @meichrys, my apologies; there’s a feature request for revision history, but that isn’t available yet. You can revert to default, but there’s no history outside the “undo” button once you’ve exited the editor.

Have you considered viewing the list of template parts, though, and just revert the part that is affected, rather than the entire page template?

From the middle of the site editor, you’ll see your page name and an option to browse all templates. And from there you can see a link to template parts on the left.

The templates and template parts you have edited will have a dot next to them. You can tap three dots and choose to revert, or you can click into that part and fix it as needed. My guess is that just one of those is broken, and by clicking into it to view it, you’ll be able to tell which one needs a revert.

Want to give that a try and let us know how it goes?
