How to turn my blog into a full website

  I want to change my blog into a full website. I have seen many sites that claim to be blogs, but have multiple pages that allow for multiple posts with comments, etc. How can I change my current wordpress blog into a full site like this? (here’s an example of what I want to be able to do http://www.allthingsthrifty.com/ or http://www.yourcupofcake.com/ ).

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
