How to turn off privacy?

  Dear WordPress savants: my privacy settings remain on, even tho turned off at Settings > Reading > allow search engines > Save Changes. This should make blog public but it is not appearing in La Google. I am vexed… can anyone help?

  Your blog is public. That does not mean it’s indexed in Google. When you make a blog that has been private public, search engines will have already been told your blog is private. They will not index it because you told them not to. When you turn it public, they are not immediately aware of that, because you specifically told them to go away. It will take longer to get indexed than if you had never set it to private. Allow up to 12 weeks, assuming you are posting multiple times per week. This is perfectly normal.
