Header images have to be jpg, gif or png. You will want to rotate, size and crop the image prior to uploading it.

Each theme that supports a custom header has a specific size and if you go to appearance > custom header it will list the size. My suggestion is that you edit, size and crop the image to the exact size prior to uploading it. The header crop feature here has been cranky lately.

I changed the CSS for my theme and everything looks fine. However, I don’t know how or where to place my image, since when I go to add custom header, it does not show up anymore! Anyone know where in the CSS sheet I can place this header? I already have the correct size and width. Thanks.
