How to unfollow all the blogs at the same time?
-
So when I started blogging, I loved to follow other bloggers. But now after a year, I want to follow only those bloggers who write in my genre. I want to unfollow all the blogs. Help me.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Go to the Reader, https://wordpress.com/following/edit/, and click on the “X” in the gray circle corresponding to each website you’d like to unfollow.
-
No, I meant all at the same time. The blogs I follow are over 1000! I won’t unfollow them one by one. And by the way, it’s showing error when I’m unfollowing.
-
At that link, it says to go to the Reader. On the Reader, I didn’t see where one could bulk edit the subscriptions.
-
We are phasing out use of that subscription management site, so it may not show every single site you’re following. But with 1000 sites, its probably a good start to bulk remove what you can there.
In the dashboard interface, there’s no way to bulk remove subscriptions.

Here is a screenshot from going to the link you suggested:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/lorri37/16278448328/It directs us to go to the Reader. There is no bulk edit on the Reader either.
What does “phasing out use of that subscription management site” mean? Will we ever be able to use the bulk edit for our subscriptions?
What does “In the dashboard interface” mean? Old dashboard, new dashboard, or something else entirely?
-
Whoops! Sorry about that, I forgot to add the full extension.
@leoblaze101 – I’ll send you an email with the full link to the old subscription manager so you bulk remove those sites.
@dandelionsalad – Do you also need a link to the old subscription manager?
Will we ever be able to use the bulk edit for our subscriptions?
As far as I know it’s not on our radar to add this, but I logged the suggestion when I last responded. :)

Sorry for the confusion. I meant the WordPress.com dashboard here:
https://wordpress.com/following/edit/
Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks, and yes, please do give us the old subscription manager link as I do not know where it is.
I only updated my subscriptions last week and had to do it one by one and it took a while to do. Can’t imagine having 1,000 to do.

Thanks for sending it to me.
Is there a reason that all bloggers cannot have this link? The “new” subscription page is a downgrade if we cannot bulk edit our subscriptions.
-
The old management page is linked at the bottom of every email subscription you get. The links to unsubscribe and edit your subscription options both still go to that page. So anyone who gets a subscription email from WordPress.com has access to that page.
As I mentioned, I’ve submitted the request for mass editing of subscriptions through the new interface.

Thanks it worked, although a bit tedious because it showed only 20 subscriptions per page.
-
Shawna, I unfollowed all the blogs from the link you gave me but still I can see them in my WordPress Reader.
-
@leoblaze101 – I took a look and it seems like you only have a handful of subscriptions left. As I had said, it’s possible not everything will show up at the link I gave you, particularly anything you didn’t set up emails for won’t be there. You’ll have to go through the remainder in the WordPress.com dashboard:
https://wordpress.com/following/edit/
On my end it looks like you have just shy of 60 subscriptions there now. Let me know if you’re seeing many more than that in your list.
