How to Unsubscribe Reader's Email Notification to New Comments
-
How do I help a reader with this request: “After I originally commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is an easy method you can remove me from that service?”
I don’t know if this is a bug (since there is only one comment on my post), or if the reader is receiving emails whenever other readers comment on separate posts (another bug), or if I am misunderstanding the request.
I’ve already gone to Settings/Discussion and disabled “Follow Comments” on my Dashboard (http://en.support.wordpress.com/following-comments/) but am not sure if this would retroactively help my reader.
I also don’t know if this request should be handled by the reader himself via the Managing Post / Comment Notification from the reader’s original email notification (managing subscriptions option).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

The reader will have to do that on their end, there should be a link in any email they get to edit their subscription settings.
-
The reader himself has to handle this by clicking the notifications button at the bottom of the email.
