How to update a uploaded file in the Media Library?

  I updated the information in two files at my Media Library. If I delete the old and upload the new files, the links pointing to those files will be broken. Is there a way to replace or update files already uploaded at the Media Library?

  First off, files you delete are not immediately deleted. They are marked for deletion, but still there, and will be batch deleted at some predetermined time interval. I always change the name of the file before I upload them and then correct any links after I upload the new files making sure I use the new file names. When you upload a file with the same name, WordPress will append the file name with a number so that it does not overwrite any files.
