  Please how do I upgrade to another plan and must I have a PayPal account?

  To use a custom domain name with your WordPress.com site you need to purchase one of the three plans:
  https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  All paid plans include a domain credit to be used for registering a new domain or mapping an existing one.

  To use the domain you already have, first upgrade to one of the plans and then follow these instructions to map it:

  For payment, we accept:

  All major credit and debit cards

  PayPal

  Apple Pay, on supported devices
