How to upload a custom theme

  I’ve downloaded a theme from themeforest.net to use on my wordpress.com site.

  I want to upload these files but your docs seem to contradict each other. Here is says I need to use an FTP client to upload my theme files: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Adding_New_Themes

  Yet here it says you do not allow ftp access to wordpress sites: http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/

  What’s the correct story? If it’s the latter how do I upload my theme files to my wordpress site????

  Hello,

  I’m afraid that themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs that use WordPress.org. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

  Whilst this is the case, there are a whole variety of different themes available on WordPress.com – both free and premium. You can view all of these here: http://theme.wordpress.com/ and filter them by specific criteria under “Find a Theme”.
