How to upload custom theme zip file

  I just bought a custom WordPress theme (http://themeforest.net/item/garnish-cleancut-wordpress-portfolio-theme/308989) and am trying to upload it. The PDF it came with says to go to Appearance>Add New Themes>Upload to upload the zip file. The problem is that when I go to Appearance, I don’t see the Add New Themes option.

  When I set up my account I purchased the $99 WordPress Value Bundle that lists Custom Design as a feature. Why isn’t it allowing me this option now? Do I need to buy hosting?

  I am having the same issue. My premium theme was also purchased from themeforest. I did not purchase the $99 bundle.

  I am experiencing something simlilar. Am trying to install Genesis and then my theme but when I click on Appearence>Themes>Install Themes I do not have an Install Themes tab – just a Manage Themes tab.

  You cannot add themes at wordpress.COM. You are limited to the 150+ (and growing) themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  From the Custom Design support page:

  Does the Custom Design upgrade let me upload themes?
  No. Uploading custom themes is not supported on WordPress.com.

  The authors have deleted this blog.

  If you are still out there I suggest you read these sections of the support documentation, one of which thesacredpath has pointed to:
  Custom Design > Frequently Asked Questions
  Domain Mapping > Important Notes Before Upgrading

  To by crystal clear purchasing upgrades does not result in anything more that exactly what the upgrade states. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs. We cannot upload any third-party themes or plugins as they are for WordPress.org self hosted installs that run on different software. Please read WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

  @timethief thank you for the advice. Why does it say karenacevedo.wordpress.com is no longer available??? That’s strange. I have my own domain on it so maybe that’s why? My site is karenacevedo.com

  Available upgrades > Refunds
  Bundles > Cancel a Bundle

  You can link your WordPress.com username to your active blog easily. Users > Personal Settings is the correct place to select the correct URL for the primary blog that you want linked to your username.
