How to upload customized photo across top of blog

  Hi All,

  I have figured out how to manage many aspects of the blog on my own, but not how to upload a customized photo in place of the default “banner” (don’t know if that’s the right technical word) across the top of my blog.

  Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions? Thank you in advance.
