How to upload .epub and .mobi files?

  I have a free site shuttie27.wordpress.com. How can I upload a .mobi and a .epub file for my readers to download? I’ve read information about fuctions.php and a plugin called manage-upload-types, but no details on how to accomplish this. VERY frustrating. Epubs have been around for years and you don’t have integrated support???

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately, you cannot upload .mobi or .epub files to your WordPress.com-site.

  However, there are a several solutions available to you:

  1. You can store your .mobi or .epub files on an outside server and link to them from your WordPress.com site.

  2. You can transfer your .mobi or .epub files to one of WordPress.com’s accepted file types and upload them:

  3. You can use Scribd to embed your documents into your WordPress.com site:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/scribd/

  4. It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. So you can transfer from a WordPress.com-hosted site, to a self-hosted version via WordPress.org. Here are the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

  On a self-hosted site, you have more flexibility and can upload any files types you desire.
