how to upload image to media livrary

how to upload image to media library? I searched forums, and everyone is talking about using images already IN the library. But how to get them there? it seems that when I click on the Media Library button, my only options there are managing the images already in.
I don’t want to use images from my computer, I use Flickr finds (with attribution),and I would like to keep stock in Media library. But how to save them in? -
Can we have a link to your blog, please, starting with http? And are you an admin at that blog?

Thanks.
When you click on the Add Media button, what do you see in the pop-up box? Please copy ALL of it and paste it here. The very first line should be an uploader; either the Flash uploader or a “hey the Flash uploader doesn’t work, try the Browser Uploader” warning. If you get that, below should be a link to get the Browser uploader.

Pasting:
“You are using the Flash uploader. Problems? Try the Browser uploader instead.

Okay, what happens when you click on the Browser Uploader link? That’s the way to upload from your harddrive.
To upload from elsewhere on the web, you see where it says From URL? Put the image URL in where it says Image URL. Add any description you want and set alignment there.

Note this does NOT actually upload them to your WordPress.com space; it just hotlinks them. Maybe they won’t show in the Media Library after doing that; I never hotlink, so I wouldn’t know. But you can format via HTML or the options right on the Uploading box as I said above.

These formatting tips might help as well:

Thank you, but that does not answer my question. I know how to upload into the post, either from harddrive or the net. What I don’t know – is how people’s pictures end up in the Media Library.
-
This does:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=31210&replies=10#post-223987Looks like you have to actually upload them from your hard drive. If you do that, they end up in the Media Library. The reason yours do not is that this is not what you’re doing, as you said in the original post.
-
Oh, I see – so what is the point of having the Media Library? If I will have to save images in my harddrive , I don’t really need an intermediary .
Thanks for explanations

The Media Library is to organize your own files that are hosted on WordPress.com. I have images on my hard drive that I upload and then delete from the hard drive.
