How to upload on manage > uploads

(I really am losing my mind this time!).
Why is there no option to upload further items on the manage > uploads page? I really can’t find that option anywhere and I’m horribly confused!
I can see the thumbnails of the pictures I have already uploaded, but no option to upload more!

As far as i know, you have to upload on a writing page (write a post/write a page). It seems like there should be a way to do it in Manage, but there isn’t

You do not upload images into the area you are indicating. You upload them into pages or into posts (see below).
