How to upload pic and edit to thumbnail size

  • Unknown's avatar

    I can upload the picture but when it comes to edit – there isn’t an option for “show thumbnail or full size”. There’s just an option for Link image. How do I upload the picture as thumbnail size if the option isn’t there?

    Depends. Can you give us some details of the image that you’re uploading. (ie filename, size, format, an URL for a sample image, etc.)

    Chances are the thumbnail did get created. If you give us a sample URL for an image, I’ll give you back the URL for the thumbnail. Usually all you have to do is add ‘.thumbnail’ to the filename.

    I have the opposit problem, my pictures will only load in to tumbs, even though I choise fullsize and no link. It hangs and nothing happening. But I´ve manage it by puting the thumb in the blog and then by codeview delete .thumbnail and rezise it by draging it bigger.

    I don´t know maybe it depends if the pictures witdh are more than 450 px ?

    I am having the same problem of not getting the option to save a picture as a thumbnail. If I were to add the ‘.thumbnail’ to the link, where would it go in the string?

    Folks, please reread the thread that you just posted into. Especially the post that I made. It appears you may have missed a request in their for more information so we can help you.

    Here is the url with one of the pix. I see the thumbnail when I am uploading the photos but I dont have the option to place it on the page as a thumbnail.

    I am having similiar problem – the first time I uploaded 4 pics I put them in the post as full-size, but I had the option to thumbnail them. I decided I wanted them as thumbnails, went to change them, and only one had the thumbnail option still there. I erased and re-uploaded, but still no thumbnail option. I tried to write in “thumbnail” on the other pictures, in the same place it is on the photo that does still have the thumbnail option, but no photo shows up, just a question mark square.

    here are two urls, the first is the thumbnail that DID work, the second is the one did not:

    <img src=’http://generationwhy.wordpress.com/files/2007/02/c-dress.thumbnail.jpg’ alt=” />

    <img src=’http://generationwhy.wordpress.com/files/2007/02/n-cshirt2.jpg’ alt=’n-cshirt2.jpg’ />

    they are both jpg, one named c-dress.jpg and one named cshirt2.jpg. both were edited in photoshop elements.

    thanks!

    The second one is huge, almost half a meg while the first one is under 300kb. I’m betting on that being the case as to why you didn’t get a thumbnail option. We’ve been told that there’s an upper limit of the size where a thumbnail will be generated. This is done to reduce server strain.

    You could always create your own thumbnail if you want and upload that. I use BlogDesk myself and that creates the thumbnail for you as well and uploads it.

    Hope this helps,
