how to upload plug ins and custom themes

    i would like to know how i can upload plug ins and custom themes. do i need to be using wordpress.org?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    for plugin use, you will either need a .org account or be running your site from a self-hosted platform.

    as for custom themes, even if you have an upgraded .com account you are not able to upload a custom theme. .com is meant for keeping things simple to allow for faster creation and posting of content. So if you wish to have a more robust design WordPress has free and premium themes to choose from. Also if you do upgrade your account you can edit any theme that is available to choose from.

    If you wish to at a later date move your blog that will allow you use to the WP software. Or if you wish to ask for a certain type of theme to be created.

    Just to clarify, we cannot upload additional plugins or custom themes on WordPressdotcom sites. Those are functions that are available if you set up your own install of the standalone WP software.
