how to upload theme I bought

i bought a theme and can’t upload it.

The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs like your blog are the themes found here http://wordpress.com/themes/
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we cannot upload any third party themes, create child themes or our own themes or edit templates.

So basically people make wordpress themes, websites sell these themes, but you can’t upload these bought wordpress themes to wordpress? hmmmmmm

no i bought it from theme forest. Maybe you haven’t heard of that site. They have awesome templates and A LOT of them.

I’ve been answering questions here for over 7 years. You cannot use any theme on a free hosted WordPress.COM blog that is not found here > http://wordpress.com/themes/

ummmm ok. You already said that. Thats awesome I am happy for you that you’ve been answering questions that long here. What I wrote was have you ever heard of theme forest. I also stated twice that I bought my theme from theme forest. Not sure what your last comment has to do with.

What’s relevant is what I posted. You cannot use any theme purchased anywhere but here http://wordpress.com/themes/ on any free hosted WordPress.com blog. Have a great day using time effectively online.

If you purchased a premium theme directly from WordPress.com through your free hosted WordPress.com > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades then read what follows:
You can preview how any theme will look on your site by clicking the Preview link or just click the Purchase & Activate link (where you’ll also see the price for each theme). Once you’ve clicked Purchase & Activate you’ll be presented with an upgrade screen where you can purchase the theme.
You can also purchase and activate from the WordPress.com Theme Showcase if you are browsing there. You will have the option to choose which one of your sites you want the theme for. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/premium-themes/

Theme Forest sells custom themes for WordPress.ORG installs – they assume (in error some times) that anyone buying a theme from them knows what they are doing and understands the difference between WordPress.ORG installs & WordPress.com blogs
Ask for your money back, common error – if you really want to use the theme – you will need to find hosting not here
