How to use template theme

    Dear Everyone,

    I bought a wordpress theme online outside wordpress. I then uploaded it and activate it on wordpress. But what I saw from the preview is only some layout and site name and tagline in a page which is not the whole template with everything. How can I fix this problem? What are the further steps I need to do? Thank you very much for an early reply.

    Hi klchancl,

    With WordPress.com you are not able to use themes which you purchase from other sources. You can select and use any of the number of themes already listed at http://themes.wordpress.com
    There are free and paid ones available to use.

    If you are looking to use a theme you purchased from elsewhere you would need to look at setting up a self hosted version of WordPress from http://wordpress.org

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    If that’s the route you want to take you would need to start a thread at http://wordpress.org/support/ where they support the self hosted version of WordPress.

    They will be able to support you much better there.
