how to use the new format

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve had a daily blog with you since 2011. I’m now presented with the new editing format and I simply don’t know where to start. I can’t confirm whether my style will still be the same; I can’t see how to add a toolbar for changing the font, bold, colour etc, or undo. Where can I find an explanation how to use the new system please? I’m at a loss.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

Most of the documentation can be found at https://en.support.wordpress.com.

You can click on the far right button with the three vertical dots which will show the advanced toolbar where you can edit the font color and have more options.

However, if you would like to use the old editing system, you can go to the old dashboard by clicking here

Please reply back if you need further assistance.

    Take care,

    Onur

Hi, i’m trying the New post screen and i’ve some difficulty with the toolbar on top of the editor area.
That works well if i compose posts made of few lines or a single photo… but when my post is a bit longer and writing on make the page to scroll down, the toolbar simply disappear from the screen, remaining on top of the page!
So, if i want to format a phrase or a word, or give any editing command, i have to scroll up to the top of the page, click on the desired toolbar icon, then scroll down again to see the result… that’s very annoying!
Is there any way to make the toolbar “follow” the editing line, such as on the good old post screen?
    Thank you!
    (i’m using Google Chrome)

Know that we cannot help anyone who does not provide the URL of the exact site hosted by WordPress.COM that they are referring to. There is no URL linked to your username.

If your site is hosted by wordpress.COM and it is not a mature content site post the URL here. If it is mature content site hosted by wordpress.COM then contact staff by emailing to:

If you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting then we do not provide support for it.

Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
