How to use wordpress.com basic recipe shortcode
-
I wanted to post a recipe on my blog and I noticed that wordpress.com has a basic recipe shortcode detailed here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recipes/
However, when I start a new blog post and copy-paste the exact shortcode wordpress have in their example and click preview, or even publish the post, the text appears exactly as code. What am I doing wrong?
The shortcode used as example by wordpress:
[recipe title="Summer Pasta with Basil, Tomatoes and Cheese" servings="4-6" time="2hr 30mins" difficulty="easy" image="https://en-support.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/food-dinner-pasta-broccoli.jpg" description="A fresh, light, Italian-inspired pasta recipe perfect for a late summer dinner."]

To add a recipe to your site, start with the [recipe] shortcode. Everything between the opening [recipe] and closing [/recipe] tags will be set apart as the recipe on your page.
Get rid of all the extra [ ] stuff you inserted. All you need is the opening [recipe] and closing [/recipe] tags.
