how to view and filter notifications? How to copy previous post?

It used to be that using the notifications icon in upper right corner I could view the list of notifications and filter them. This is a really important feature for me as I need to catch up on comments and replying to them from time to time – I use the feature all the time. I hope it has not been made to disappear.

Likewise, everytime I make a new post (daily) I copy a previous post – it saves me a lot of time. I can’t find how to do that in the new posting methods which seems to have been imposed without access back to classic posting screen. What am I doing wrong – or is it your designers?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

my second question applies to the “improved posting experience” but I did eventually find my way to the classic dashboard and could do it from there. Given that the link to classic is ever more difficult to find, I expect it will be disappearing soon. Therefore, please make sure that the improved experience is at least as complete as the classic experience. Thanks

    Hi there,

You can find your notifications by clicking on the bell at the top right hand corner when you go to WordPress.com as seen here:

If you need to filter through, I suggest using the Ctrl+F to do a search of what you need to find.

The copy a post feature has been removed from the new post editor. If you need to use that, please use the classic editor.

    Cheers!

Thanks Grace – Ctrl F does not solve my need. The problem with the bell symbol is that when I click on it I get a list of notifications and no further action is possible, other than opening individual notifications and scrolling down looking for the comments in amongst the other notifications in that small window. Ctrl F only the finds the ones that are visible on-screen in the window, not the ones deeper down in the list. It used to be that when I clicked on the old icon I got an option to “view archive” and once in the archive one could filter/sort the notifications by category – and in that way I could look at only comment notifications and work my way through them responding as appropriate. The new layout means it is much slower to find them as they are buried, and thus very much increases the likelihood that I will miss some comments in the list and not give that comment a reply.

Therefore, please pass along that the old view-archive feature was very useful and served an important function – please put it back!

Since the new post editor will undoubtedly become the only option sometime in the near future I want to make it clear that the copy a post feature is absolutely essential to my work flow, and that of other WP bloggers that I know. The absence of this feature could be enough for me to find another platform as it will entail a lot more work for each post.

So please take this as a formal request to put the copy a post feature into the new editor before it becomes the only editor. Thanks!

Thanks for this. I’ll pass this along to our team.

    Cheers!
