How to view how the WordPress branding footer will look without having to pay for a subscription?
-
I would like to see how my WordPress branded footer will look on my website to see if I want to purchase a basic plan but I can’t even figure out how to view it in the first place without having to purchase the plan. I am not looking to lock in a plan yet, I merely want to see if WordPress will meet my needs for my website. IS there any way to preview the branded footer without paying for a plan just yet? I’m thinking WordPress will work great for me but can’t be sure until I am able to preview the branded footer.

Hi @chasepageacting, could you clarify what you mean by the branded footer? Do you mean the “Proudly Powered by WordPress” thing that can show, or something else?
Send more details… we’re happy to help you sort this out!

Yes that’s what I’m referring to. I am looking into purchasing one of the basic plans so I will have to have the branded footer. But I don’t know what it will look like, as it doesn’t seem to show it in the preview of my site design.

Thanks for clarifying. You can see the options for the footer credit here:
https://wordpress.com/support/footer-credits/
Note that how the credit looks will depend on your site theme, so if you have questions on how to get that set up once you upgrade, we’ll be happy to help.
I hope that clarifies things!

Thanks, but it doesn’t show my footer when I try any of the available footer options. It doesn’t show me a preview of the footer.

All WordPress.com users can choose among several options for the footer credit, from a minimalist WordPress.com logo to text options like “A WordPress.com Website” or “Website Powered by WordPress.com.
I suppose it depends if you want fixed pages/a website or a blog with infinite scrolling. My free site with infinite scrolling at the bottom of the screen just shows transparently a single line with the name of my site on the left and ” website powered by WordPress.com” on the right which I don’t think is a problem. It is true!
