How to widen my blog
-
Hi,
I’m the owner of the blog at http://honningpupp.com.
Originally, the blog is 760 pixels wide, of which the ‘post area’ is 450 pixels wide. Now, I’m using an external service in order to post blogs via e-mail (Posterous), however when posting pictures, Posterous automatically scales them to a width of 500 pixels – and this can’t be changed.
Because of this, I want to widen my blog by 50 pixels, so that the total blog will be 810 pixels wide, and the post area 500 pixels.
Now, I went into the CSS stylesheet, and changed all the relevant width parameters I could find, as well as re-adjusting the header and footer images (making them 50 pixels wider).
The ‘width’ parameters I changed, was:
#headerimg: 740 to 790 pixels
#page: 760 to 810 pixels
#header: 758 to 808 pixels
.narrowcolumn: 450 to 500 pixels
.widecolumn: 450 to 500 pixels
#footer: 760 to 810 pixelsWhat’s weird is that only the header and footer widths have changed, the body (main part) of the blog still remains ‘narrow’. Have a look: http://www.honningpupp.com
I’m not really an expert in HTML or CSS, and so I hope someone can guide me towards which variables I need to change in order to widen the main area of my blog.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance :-)
