How to wrap site content and sidebar areas together in TwentyTwelve Theme

  Hello

  I want to wrap site content and sidebar sections together in TwentyTwelve Theme to apply a css style to make the combined area boxed.

  I added a new id element (“homepage_container”) and tried to apply css style but it does not work:

  Something wrong with the code above? How can I make a box which contains site-content and sidebar?
