how upload on a webserver

    Hello :-)

    i´ve to make a homepage and i choose wordpress to realize it. But now, I´ve a problem.
    I want to put? it on a web server, if it´s a webserver ;-).
    Can I save my wordpress contents on my laptop to upload it with ftp on my domain?? or is it only possible with wordpress.org?? can I realize it anyway??
