How will having a domain affect my current blog

    I have looked at your website to try to understand what having my own domain means but it doesn’t answer my questions.
    I would like to know the difference between the blog that I write now and having my own domain. What are the advantages and disadvantages please?
    In particular, you are inviting people to claim a domain, does this mean that, in due course, the terms for my blog will change?

    Hi Diana –

    The content on your blog would remain the same if you upgraded to a custom domain.

    Free sites look like yoursite.wordpress.com whereas a custom domain drops the .wordpress portion. Exampels of custom domains would be yoursite.com, .org, .blog.
