How will I know which category my blog belongs to?

  I cant figure out which category my blog ends up in like books or tech etc and I need help

  We do not adding categories to blogs or to pages. They can be assigned only to posts. https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/

  Unless it’s the sites listed as the WordPress.com Recommended blogs? https://wordpress.com/recommendations/

  I believe those are curated (and categorized) by WordPress.com staff.

  You are correct. The recommended blogs are selected by Staff and they also select freshly pressed posts.
