How will my website make money?
-
I would at the very least try to break even on what I have paid to build the site etc. I just wanted to know what ways I can make money on my website considering it is a register domain with wordpress and I am paying over £20 each year for various wordpress services including domain mapping, private registration and so on.
Can I use things such as Chitika, Google Adsense, Adwords etc? Please let me know of every avenue available to me thanks!

There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. This is the homepage for the WordAds program: http://www.wordads.co/ There you will find the application page as well as FAQs.

Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.com

As someone who owns both independent, ad-supported sites doing affiliate marketing and WordPress.com blogs, I can say that if you’re to have the least chance of making money online you have to approach it very seriously. Do your reasearch FIRST, and don’t pay for anything without knowing your expected return on investment. The most profitable money making project online is charging other people to take your workshops on how to make money online.

True but it is not my intention to make vast amounts of money on my website it would be good if it could generate a bit of income but its not necessary. I just want to gain an experience of running a website of my own on the whole anyway!
