How will people find my blog?
-
Hi everyone, I’m new to this. I’ve just finished making a blog and I would like to know how people would find it. I tried to google my blog, but it didn’t show in the search results. That kind of disheartens me. How will I ever get popular if people can’t even search for my blog? :(
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
It usually takes a while for search engines to crawl through websites to index them. Since your blog was just created and it seems that you don’t have any posts up (but congratulations on making the website! :)), there isn’t any content your site has that people are searching for (yet). Don’t worry! Just start posting with the key words you want to rank for in mind, providing great content that people search and that you love, and it will happen.
Also, if you tag your blog posts with words that are relevant to what’s inside your blog post, it can increase your chances of getting found. People can search the term (for example, “recipe, photography, etc”) and find blogs that offer what they want. Just remember not to litter your tag section with too many words that don’t make sense with what you’ve written! :)
Hope this helped!

Your blog is devoid of any content https://desihead.wordpress.com/ Start publishing posts (not pages) frequently. To verify blog ownership of a WordPress.com hosted blog with the major search engines you must use this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.WordPress.com automatically supplies sitemaps for our blogs to search engines – we do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
Note that it can take weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL.
What attracts search engines is unique content in posts (not pages) that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Start now publishing original content posts frequently two or even three times weekly. For more information read > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/21/omg-i-cant-find-my-blog-on-google
re: the front page error message found on every new .wordpress.com blog
Nothing Found
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help. There is nothing wrong with your site. By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the front page error message and searchbox that appears on every new WordPress.COM blog will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
I recommend using the step by step tutorial linked to the bottom of your Admin page https://learn.wordpress.com

Below are some tips for increasing traffic.
It takes time and effort to build a collection of unique content, to promote it, and to attract followers. And, it takes weeks for search engines to index content in a new blog and/or to re-index content under a new URL. https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
It is commenting on other blogs with similar content that encourages traffic to flow to your own blog. If you are a WordPress.com blogger there are onsite tools you can use to find blogs by subject matter http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2014/01/20/finding-blogs-with-similar-content/

Increasing traffic to a blog is hard work. If you want your blog to rank well in search engine results then that begins with creating and publishing original content posts (not pages) ie. unique content that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet.

If you are using a WordPress.com theme good SEO is a given. However, going beyond the theme what the blogger has done within that structure is worth evaluating. Whether you write informative, persuasive or controversial content learning how search engines work, and how to apply basic SEO to you content will benefit your blog as it will increase traffic from targeted readers. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/10/21/two-seo-videos-for-bloggers/
