How would I go about installing this CSS skin?
-
So I searched around and found this really neat theme (http://sandboxskins.wordpress.com/2007/12/18/dark-lake-for-sandbox-10/). I wanted to test it out (preview) before purchasing CSS. The instructions says that the skin is for Sandbox-10 (which I don’t know how to access, or if WordPress.com has it).
Is this skin compatible with a WordPress.com blog, or would I have to go round to WordPress.org?

I see three Sandbox versions in my Admin area under Appearance -> Themes
Sandbox 1.6.1- Rich with powerful and dynamic semantic class selectors, Sandbox is a canvas for CSS artists
Sandbox 1.1 – A theme rich with powerful and dynamic semantic class selectors; a canvas for CSS artists.
Sandbox 0.6.1 -A theme with powerful, semantic CSS selectors and the ability to add new skins.
I do not see Sandbox 10. What do you see here?

I don’t see Sandbox-10 either.
Here, http://sandboxskins.wordpress.com/2007/12/18/dark-lake-for-sandbox-10/, it says that I would need to paste the code into Sandbox-10. I’m just wondering which of the 3 Sandbox’s I should paste this into.

The only themes we wordpress.com bloggers can use are those we find under Appearance – Themes. Below are the relevant links with regaed to purchasing the CSS upgrade and editing the stylesheet.

I have no CSS editing skills and very few bloggers volunteering here do. There is no Staff support for CSS editing but there is a preview function.

Sandbox 10 is actually Sandbox 1.1. They changed the titles of the Sandbox entries here to match the actual Sandbox versions when they introduced Sandbox 1.6.1.
To try the skin out, go to appearance > edit CSS, clear everything that is in the edit window, paste the CSS skin in, and then make sure “start from scratch…” is selected and then you can click preview to see what it looks like. If everything looks OK, then you can click “save stylesheet” and the skin will be applied to your blog. You will probably have to move some widget around, and possibly resurrect some from the “inactive widgets” area at the bottom of the widgets page, but you should not have any major issues.

You’re welcome. It might have originally been Sandbox 1.0, but there were only minor changes from 1.0 to 1.1, so the 1.0 skins work just fine.
