H/t remove a widget from Ocadia
-
I am using a free blog and the theme Ocadia. I want to remove Meta widget on the sidebar and modify the Blogroll widget. It shows as unused in the Design area of the Dashboard, so I’m assuming these come standard in this theme? Is there a way to change that without CSS?

If your blog is new and still using the theme’s native widgets, the minute you add any widget from the list on the left side of the Widget page, all the native widgets disappear. You have to “recreate” the sidebar,
Not sure what you mean by “modify the Blogroll widget”. Could you explain?

Thank you! I didn’t know that and that did fix it. About the Blogroll widget – I can’t figure out how to add new sites and remove the default sites.
Thanks so much for your help.

Actually there’s no “Blogroll widget”: it’s the Links widget – and you don’t add or remove site links via this widget.
To add site links go to Write > Link.
To remove them go to Manage > Links.
(There you can also create new link categories other than Blogroll.)
