.htaccess file is not writable

  When I go to the page permalinks, it says there is an error that my htaccess file is not writable so I can’t update my page which I think is preventing me from getting my site back because now I can’t access it.

  Hey there, can you confirm whether this is with stholdclothing.wordpress.com or another site? We don’t currently use .htaccess here, but if you’ll let us know what you’re hoping to do I’m sure we can point you in the right direction.

  If the site in question is a WordPress installation with another host, can you contact the host first to regain access? Then, you’ll want to create an account at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ so you’ll have access to the correct community for your site.
