html code pasted into editor get scrambled
-
It seems that html generated by Payfast (a payment gateway provider in SA) to create a Pay Now button get scrambled when it is pasted into a WordPress site.
The main effect is that all the angled brackets <> which encase the tags are rendered as < and > in the WordPress editor. The result is that the code is not recognised as such, but is displayed as text on the site.
Please see the pdf document at https://shalvapub.com/toets-bladsy/ for an example.

Hi, johannvs
I made a few adjustment to the code. It appeared fine.
Paste it in the HTML view first then click on visual
Let me know how it works for you
Cheers!

Thanks eemmanuelokon, it is working fine now.
Is it best to always paste code html view and not in visual?

Hi there @johannvs, When working with code, it is preferable to paste into the HTML Editor rather than Visual, but regardless, some code is not permitted here on WordPressdotcom’s Free, Personal or Premium plans due to our restrictions. Here is our support guide on code: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
If you have the Business plan upgrade, you are able to use just about anything. https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#business-plan
If you have an upgrade plan, you are also eligible for direct support from Staff when you are logged in with the username account that purchased the upgrade and you post via the dashboard here: https://wordpress.com/help/contact
Let us know if you have any other question.

Yes, johannvs,
It is best to always paste HTML codes in the HTML view because it is the language the browser understanding before interpreting it using the Visual View.
You can find more explanation here https://en.support.wordpress.com/html-troubleshooting/
and more on Visual Editor here https://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/
I’m so glad it’s working fine now. Also, take note of what @justjennifer has said.
Cheers:)
