HTML code problems
-
I’m trying to post a code from Google Calendar. What I want to do is embed the calendar on a page on my site. Here is the code I’m trying to embed…
<iframe src=”http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=mikec983%40gmail.com&ctz=America/Los_Angeles” style=”border: 0″ width=”800″ height=”600″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”></iframe>
I pasted it onto a new page and nothing happened. The code itself showed up but no calendar could be seen. Anyone have an idea what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

Yes, many have an idea what the problem is; iframes (as well as forms, flash and javascript) are not allowed in wp, for security reasons.
-
Dang it. I knew that javascript is not allowed but I didn’t know iframes were as well. Thanks for the info. Do you think its possibly to re-do the script without the iframe? I’m no whiz at web design so I’m not sure, kind of explains why I’m on wordpress :]

If you search in the forums, you’ll see that the standard answer is you can only LINK to a Google Calendar. You might care to check two other suggestions (haven’t tried them myself, as I’m not interested in this):

You can add Google calendars via RSS feed.

I’d like to paste a code from ShareThis so my blog readers can forward my page or post with their friend or network. Looks like ShareThis’s instructions don’t really fit my blog admin panel! Any idea about this???

Yes. If you do a search for Share This you’ll find many threads about it in the forum. A better solution for WP.COM blogs is GetSocial, which you can find here:
