Html disappears from Text view when switching to Visual?

I am finding it odd that there is even a text view on the Dashbooard because when I put html in there like a
it is stripped out once I go back tothe Visual view. What’s the point in even haivng a text view if it can not retain some html?
Why do I need it you may ask? Well I am using it to prevent pictures from overlapping each other on this site:http://www.milowerx.com/publishing/ribeye-the-bullbarian/
you can see the books have spaces after them, but if I do not put a
there it will not do that and all the pics cascade like a set of stairs. I’m not that well versed in html but I do know that the
