HTML does not work in the Text or HTML widget
-
There is a widget in wordpress blogs known as “Text”, and it says that you can put text or HTML. If I put any HTML code in the aforementioned widget, it does not work. In other words, the widget never shows any link.
For example: If I have written a HTML code where I would like to display an image with a link, it does not work. The widget only displays the image without any link. My ad sense is also not working due to this issue. Could you please let me know the solution as early as possible? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If I have written a HTML code
What HTML code exactly?
Some HTML tags aren’t allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons:
-
That is not correct.
Text widgets display HTML properly, provided it is not banned code. Javascript, raw flash, iframes, and many affiliate links are banned code.
Adsense is banned here. All blogger-initiated advertising is banned here. Affiliate links in the sidebar are banned here except for very rare circumstances like an author linking to her own book on Amazon.

The following is the HTML code which I am trying to put in the Text widget. It is just a widget of my profile on Zomato.

we cannot see the code you are posting, as it is stripped out here unless you put it between CODE tags. See the boxes above the Write Comment box here? Strong em link quote ul ol li code close.
Click CODE. Paste your code. Then click CODE again. This forces it to display so we can analyze it.

My apologies. Here is the code.
<a title='view Ginni Atul Sharma's food journey on zomato!' href='https://www.zomato.com/foodaholicandfitnessfreak'><img alt='view my food journey on zomato!' src='https://www.zomato.com/widgets/user_widget_img.php?user_id=917397'></a> -

Exactly. The image appears perfectly fine in the widget, but it never has the link; hence, when people try to click the image, nothing happens.
I am trying to figure this out from so many days, but it does not work at all.

We cannot help you unless or until you post the actual widget code here into this forum thread between code tags. Only then can we can examine the code and help you.
Please post the code here between backticks so it completely displays here in this thread. The backtick ` not to be confused with the single quote mark ‘ is located to the left of the number 1 key in lower case under the tilde ~.

The code is wrong, try with this:
<a title="view Ginni Atul Sharma's food journey on zomato!" href="https://www.zomato.com/foodaholicandfitnessfreak"><img alt="view my food journey on zomato!" src="https://www.zomato.com/widgets/user_widget_img.php?user_id=917397"></a> -

That’s interesting. I see absolutely no reason that wouldn’t work.

Hi everyone, I stumbled upon this forum looking for guidance regarding using affiliate links. I found an article earlier and was trying to find my way back to it. Anyhow- @Raincoaster, what is banned code? And are you saying affiliate links don’t work in the sidebar? I’m so confused. The article I read just moments ago explained “most” affiliate links are allowed as long as the site is not used as a primary source to drive traffic to retailers.
