Hi –
You can use HTML on a free .wordpress.com site, there’s no upgrade needed to edit text this way.
-
Thank You Dear. Can I Add HTML Code to Theme ??
Ex – Right Mouse Click Disable , Adsense
-
re: Google Adsense
The software will continue to strip the code out.
Blogger initiated third party advertising is not allowed here. Please read: Monetize Your Site https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/
The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains that have enough traffic to qualify for acceptance into the plan.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/
https://wordads.co/faq/For that type of functionality, you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/See: Moving to Self-Hosted WordPress
https://move.wordpress.com/WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Can you tell me what is wrong with this code?
<a href="https://aweber.jpg?w=90&h=90">Aweber Autoresponder</a> -
Hi Mr Skiles – Can you tell me where you are looking to add that link on the site? Is the original file in your media library already? Are these the instructions you are following?
-
I had intended to put it in the right side underneath the Follow me link on my blog page. I do believe the “icon” is in my media area. Although this html code should pull the icon to the site.
-
This is one of several that I want to be put on the blog page. All it does is show the html code even after I “unlink” it as the directions state.
-
Not really, I’m not attempting to do a signup form just the icon with the link which has my affiliate id on it.
-
Hi – Can you tell me more about the purpose of the site? You can use affiliate links but not in a way to drive traffic.
Please review this information:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/
-
This is an affiliate link to Aweber. The code above is what I’m trying to put in. When I do it shows the html code not the Icon linked to Aweber.
-
Howdy –
The link you provided is just an image tag. You’ll need to add an actual link to it still. Use this line, but replace “example.com” with the actual link.
<a href=”https://example.com”><img src=”https://aweber.jpg?w=90&h=90 /></a>Let me know if this works out.

Ok this should be the entire link. however; I can’t find the side bar where I need it put. This is a very convoluted program and I get lost routinely.
