can I eliminate the line break between paragraphs? I note that your example of poetry starts new lines without inserting blank lines, but I find now way to start a new line without and automatic blank line before the new one

Howdy,
There are a couple of ways doing it. Within the Visual Editor, you can type Control+Enter to insert a simple non-paragraphical line break. If you use the text editor, you can manually enter
<br />to insert a line-break without forming a new paragraph.In terms of what’s happening with the above (and with the poetry example), we’re staying in the same paragraph, only breaking the line.
Are you looking to do this only on occasion or for all paragraphs? If for all, we could use your WordPress Premium upgrade to change the design of your site just a tad.

The text window solution, Very Laborious, worked for me. When I use control+enter, I’m still seeing a blank vertical space between the lines. Might that have to do with being on a Mac? I would certainly like to be able to type with wysiwyg and be able to choose whether there is an extra line space after a paragraph or not.

Hmm, on a Mac, let’s try a “Shift+Enter”, holding shift and then pressing enter in the Visual Editor.
We’ll figure out how to keep you in the Visual Editor :-)
