html editor

I am not at all happy with the new html editor – I have to do stuff in “visual” then go to “html” to tweak stuff. What was the reason for changing the html editor, and is there any way in which I can opt for the old version, which worked beautifully as far as I am concerned. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I also have issues with the new html editor. Heck, I don’t even get a toolbar in mine. What gives??

Ah! I did not mention that I use the html editor in connection with updating the pages on my blog, rather than for writing or editing posts.
Writing and editing posts is not a problem, but when I want to update the details of any of the static pages, that is when I do/did use the html editor, especially in connection with the use of a table at https://durhamstreetmethodist.wordpress.com/sermons-archive/, and also in connection with eliminating extra space below the line when updating regular communications from various places, on the https://durhamstreetmethodist.wordpress.com/miscellanea/ page.
For me, the main problem is the removal of the toolbar in the html editor, when it comes to editing the static pages of https://durhamstreetmethodist.wordpress.com/. Still, like a good Kiwi, with a No.8 wire approach to life, I am gradually finding ways of working around the lack of toolbar in the html editor – however, it was much easier to edit pages with the old html editor!
Many thanks for your suggestions and assistance …
Valerie
