  I suspect this is because you have set a static page as your front page.

  In your dashboard go to Options and then where it says “Front Page Displays”, set that to “Your latest posts” and see what happens. WIth a bit of luck that will move your posts back to the front page and the “main page” link at the top will disappear.

  Let us know and we’ll see where we go from there.
