I am considering purchasing a domain through WordPress. I need to know if when I do who will be responsible for the html – will I need to take responsibility or will WordPress do it for me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. As long as your site is on WordPress.com, they are responsible for the software-side of things. No upgrade you buy here will make you responsible, or even give you access to, the base files: http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/ The only html you ever need to worry about is the html we can use when writing posts in the text-view of the post editor, or if you want to add a link, image or special formatting to a text widget.
When you buy a domain the only thing that changes is the URL that appears in the browser when someone views your site. The free WordPress.com URL will still exist on your dashboard as that’s where your content is hosted on the WordPress.com servers, and you’ll still be bound by the same Terms of Service that apply to your free address. The custom domain is merely laid over the free URL.
