HTML formatting bug in Woocommerce on Twenty Twenty-Three theme

    So!

    * Woocommerce on WordPress.com
    * Twenty Twenty-Three theme
    * Single Product template. The product listing block has already been ‘converted’ to modern blocks. (By this I mean: At some point when editing the template the composite block had a notice recommending that I click to convert it, and I did.)
    * One of the blocks that emerges from that conversion is the Product Summary block.
    * The Product Summary block appears to strip all HTML — links disappear as do ‘strong’ tags etc.. (They don’t show up in the source code.)

    One relevant (private) page on my site that shows this: https://consentbands.com/product/personal-pack/ .

    Any ideas?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    P.S. Ideally I’d like to have the full product description there, but I don’t see a block available for it (??!?).

  • Hi there,

    Ideally I’d like to have the full product description there, but I don’t see a block available for it

    It is standard for the WooCommerce plugin to show the product description in the Product Details section below. You can see it here in my screenshot, it has tabs to show Description, Additional Information, and Reviews:

    If you wish you can move that block to be in the right hand column where the product excerpt is shown currently. The tabs (for the other content this block displays) cannot be hidden, but by default the block will show the full product description as it’s entered in the back-end, and should include formatting and links.

    Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

    Ah, good idea. I disagree with the default implementation, but your solution worked for me. Thank you!
