Html help

Sorry if this has been posted or sounds simple.. But how do you add a text box that contains an HTML code in the box? When I try it, the actual picture comes up, not the html code. :/ Sorry, I’m an HTML novice and my first time on the forums :P
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to use the “code” HTML tag. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/posting-source-code/

@cpmasterscp: Convert your code here:

If you wish to display the code in a text widget, you may also need to create a scrollbox – see here: -
Thanks! I had done this a year ago and I thought it was something else, but this worked!

The answer timechief posted will work.
Even if it were a wrong answer though, name calling isn’t helpful.

Thumbs up for @designsimply. I always did use that code and was wondering what are these guys talking about.

How do I add in the Google Ad Sense html code? I can’t get it to work.
If it helps, I have the http://myblogname.wordpress.com version rather than my own domain. Do I need to get my own domain?

Hello there,
You can’t post that code without experiencing the software stripping it right out. Whether or not you have a domain as I do for my blogs is irrelevent. The ToS and the policies apply to all free hosted WordPress.com bloggers. We cannot purchase any upgrade that provides us with the ability to run blogger initiated advertising on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.There is an advertising program called WordAds. It’s for well established blogs on their own domains, with suitable content and 20,000 page views or more monthly.
